Puppy Surprise – A Review

All three Little A’s are animal mad so, when Puppy Surprise arrived, Little Miss A couldn’t wait to have a play.
Puppy Surprise is a soft, huggable Mummy dog with a surprise number of puppies ready to be born. Each Mummy dog will have three, four or five puppies in her litter. There is no way of knowing until you take her out of the box and have a play! One of the puppies in each litter has sound effects at the press of it’s back, just like a real puppy’s. Each puppy comes with a sparkly dog collar. The puppies can be kept safe in the Mummy dog’s pouch when you are not playing with them.
Little Miss A was really excited to find out how many puppies her dog would have. The puppy which made the sounds was already separate in the box with the Mummy dog so we had a look in the Mummy dog’s pouch to see how many brothers and sisters they would have. Our dog came with two more puppies, three in total which Little Miss A was very happy with.
Little Miss A really liked the look of the Mummy dog with her purple hair and tail which she has loved brushing and looking after. Both her and Baby A have loved playing with the little puppies too. Baby A in particular has kept telling me how ‘coot’ (cute) they are.
I thought the quality of the dog and the puppies was good. It should stand up to a lot of play and cuddles. I really like that the puppies can be stored in the Mummy dog’s pouch when not in use which makes them easy to store and a lot less likely to be lost. The pouch is accessed via a velcro slot on the bottom of the Mummy dog which makes it easy for children to open and close by themselves.
Puppy Surprise is aimed at children aged 3-6 years which I think is about right. Although Baby A enjoyed playing with the puppies for a short while with Little Miss A, it is not the sort of toy she would play with for long. Little Miss A, however, can spend a long time talking to and grooming both the Mummy dog and puppies and she lives on her bed when she is not being played with!
The Puppy Surprise toys come in a variety of colours and, as you don’t know how many puppies your Mummy dog will have, each toy is different. As well as Puppy Surprise, Kitty Surprise is also available with Jungle Surprise launching later in the year (which I am pretty sure will be on Little Miss A’s birthday list!).
Overall Little Miss A is delighted with her new dog and puppies and I can see it being played with for some time to come.
