Little Miss A is still a huge Peppa Pig fan so, when a new game arrived for her from Brainbox based on one of her favourite characters she was over the moon!
It was the first time I had come across a Brainbox game so wasn’t sure what to expect. When the game arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The box itself looks really appealing and excellent quality. Upon opening all of the items are nicely stored in the box.
The game is really easy to understand. Players take it in turns to study a card with a Peppa Pig picture on it. Players have the time it takes the sand to go through the timer to study the picture with younger players getting two turns of the timer. Once the time is up the player rolls the dice. Another player then reads out the question which corresponds to that number. The question will be based upon the picture the player has been studying, for example, ‘were there any pictures on the wall’. If the player answers the question correctly they keep that card. If they answer incorrectly the card is returned to the bottom of the pile. Play continues for around 10 minutes, or as long as everyone wants to play. At the end of the game the player with the most cards is the winner.
Little Miss A has really enjoyed playing this game. She picked up the rules quickly. It is helping her memory and observation skills too. I like that, as Little Miss A gets older, and can read, she will be able to play this by herself too, testing her own memory skills.
In the box you receive 55 picture cards along with the dice and sand timer. There are plenty of cards to keep the game fresh and, with 6 questions on each card, you shouldn’t find you get too much repetition even if you play regularly.
The game is aimed at players aged 4 and over which I would say is about right, though younger players could play with a little assistance. Gameplay can be as long or as short as you have time for.
As I say, it is the first time we had played a Brainbox game and I have been impressed. The quality is excellent and I would certainly look at more of their games in the future.
