I know the weather this past week hasn’t really meant we have had any use for sun creams, however, I am hopeful that the sun will make a reappearance before the Little A’s go back to school and nursery in September!
When it does reappear we have plenty of sun cream to keep us going thanks to Aldi and their Lacura range which they recently sent to us to try out.
The Lacura range has a wide variety of sprays and creams suitable for all ages and skin types. These range from SPF 15 Sprays to SPF 50+ for children, water resistant lotion and even an after sun spray.
We received a good variety of the lotions to try out including the SPF 30 Spray, SPF 30 lotion, SPF 50+ kids spray and the SPF 50 kids water resistant lotion.
I have to say, I tend to go for the more expensive branded sun creams so was interested to see, given the bargain prices (starting from £2.79 for the sun lotions) whether they would live up to the quality of the creams we usually use.
I was impressed to see the Lacura SPF 30 sun spray was recently revealed as the lowest costing sunspray to pass the Which? SPF testing. I had high hopes!
The sun products look great. They look like high quality products. I like that it is easy to see at a quick glance which product is which so I can quickly grab a sun cream and a child before they run outside into the sunshine!
Thankfully we have had some nice sunny days since the products arrived to really give them a good test.
First up the Little A’s tried out the 50+ spray. I found this really easy to use (although watch where you are spraying as it does stain clothing!). I like the idea of a spray and found, once sprayed on the Little A’s could easily rub it into their skin themselves. Because the spray is more oily than a cream it absorbed quickly into the skin, leaving a really pleasant scent behind.
The water resistant cream again was easily rubbed into the Little A’s skin and I felt like it gave really good coverage.
With both the spray and the cream, when I tried to wash it off my hands the water just ran off so I definitely felt that it was water resistant as it claims.
Big Mr A and I have been using the SPF 30 spray and cream and again have been impressed. The spray in particular is very easy to use, a quick spray then rub it into your skin.
I was pleased to see on the bottles that the products protect against both UVA and UVB, something which we are told to look out for when purchasing sun creams.
Overall I have been really really impressed by the Lacura sun care range. Yes they are cheap but they are excellent quality and I felt gave really good protection for both adults and children. I would definitely purchase from the range in the future.
