Little Mr A was recently sent a new t-shirt from uSquibble.
Who are uSquibble?
uSquibble is a website that was created from the simple idea of encouraging children to support other, more vulnerable children, around the world. It is a unique idea that lets children design a t-shirt, thus giving them a voice, then seeing their ideas come to life and, in the process, giving something back.
Children can download a t-shirt template and submit their design to uSquibble who hold regular contests and the winning design becomes a t-shirt which is then sold online and in selected retail outlets.
At least 25% of uSquibble’s profits goes to worthwhile causes to support less fortunate children. These contributions focus on nutrition, shelter and education. It is said that the sale of each t-shirt will support one child for five days.
All of the t-shirts are made using 100% certified organic fabrics and water based inks. They work only with suppliers and manufacturers who are powered by solar energy and all of the packaging is recycled or eco friendly.
Although at present uSquibble only sell t-shirts (in sizes 3 – 8 years) they are hoping to expand their range in the future.
What did we think?
When the t-shirt arrived I was really impressed with the packaging. It came really nicely packaged and I would be happy to give this to someone as a present as well as buying for my own children.
As soon as I got the t-shirt out I could feel how good quality it was. We have reviewed some organic clothing before and you really can tell a difference. It is incredibly soft and feels great quality.
Having washed the t-shirt a few times now, I am still impressed with the quality and how well it washes. It still looks as good as new and hasn’t faded or gone out of shape which I find can happen with cheaper t-shirts.
Little Mr A loves the t-shirt and the smile on the front matches his cheesy grin perfectly! He has the size 5-6 t-shirt and, although there is plenty of room for growth, it doesn’t look too big on him and I think he will get a lot of wear from it.
Although the t-shirts are more expensive than I would usually buy, the quality of the t-shirt and the packaging certainly warrants the higher price. I would be happy buying a t-shirt as a gift or for my own children and you feel like you are doing something to help others at the same time!
