Baby A is a huge fan of the CBeebies show Bing so, when we were asked if we would like to take part in a blog tour over Easter taking part in some Bing baking activities I didn’t hesitate in saying yes!
Baby A was sent some great Bing goodies for taking part and we have been having fun in the kitchen creating some Easter themed biscuit treats.
Before we got down to the actual baking, Baby A had a practice with the Bing Baking App available on both Android and Apple devices.
The App is great. It is kind of like an episode of Bing which your little one can interact with. The App starts as the TV programme with you entering Bing’s house to help him and Flop with baking some biscuits.
Flop has already made the biscuit dough so it is up to your little one to roll out or flatten out with their hands the dough before cutting it into shapes with the cookie cutters.
Once you have cut out your biscuits Flop pops them in the oven and your child has to keep an eye on the timer and tap Flop when they are ready.
Once out of the oven comes the really fun part – decorating! Baby A loved choosing the different icings and sprinkles for her biscuits and spent a long time decorating them. There are lots of different colours and toppings to put on the biscuits so lots of things to talk about as you do it.
Once the biscuits are decorated you can save a picture of them to your device before munching them all up with Bing!
Baby A has really enjoyed playing on the Bing Baking App and she loves seeing one of her favourite characters on the screen. I think it is a good App to keep young children entertained and there is plenty to keep them busy for a good length of time. The App is also easy to use and Baby A quickly understood what she had to do and how to do it. For a price of £1.99 I do think it is a reasonable value for money App that I know Baby A will enjoy over and over again.
Once we had got to grips with making pretend biscuits it was time to get into the kitchen and cook up some yummy treats we could actually eat. Once I had made the gingerbread dough Baby A had a great time rolling it out and cutting the bunny heads and Easter egg shapes with our cutters.
She had an even more fun time decorating them with the icing tubes and, of course, loved eating them all up once they were ready!
If your little one is a fan of Bing and you are looking for a non chocolate Easter treat, there is a fab new book that is out just in time for Easter. Easter Eggs sees Bing and Sula hunt for Easter eggs in the playground but, when Sula drops her egg and it breaks, Bing decides to share his to cheer her up. Perfect for children aged 2+ this is a lovely story of friendship and the egg shape of the book makes it even more fun for little hands. Baby A has certainly been enjoying it. The board book has an RRP of £5.99 and is available to purchase from Amazon.
Of course, Bing is not just for Easter and there are lots of Bing toys and books available for your little Bingsters.
The Storytime DVD contains 10 of our favourite Bing episodes for you to enjoy time and time again. It is available to purchase from Amazon with an RRP of £5.99.
Another fun book in the Bing range is the Messy Cake book. Again this is available from Amazon with an RRP of £5.99. The book features all of your favourite Bing characters including Flop and Sula.
There is also a Bing magazine available at an RRP of £4.99 which comes with lots of stickers and a good cover toy to play with.
